This is a wonderful costume if you are willing to spend a little bit more money. The cloak is a velveteen material with a red satin lining which provides a little more weight and warmth for Halloween. My son absolutely loves this costume. I havn't been able to get him to take it off. Definitely worth the extra money if you're looking for something with more detail and substance.

If you are trying to decide between this and the cheaper robe...buy this one. The other is flimsy and doesn't hang well. This one is perfect! My son was instantly transformed into Harry Potter. My son is six and based on the sizing I wasn't sure which size to get. I went with the medium and it fit perfectly. I can't wait til Halloween to see him in it again.

The premium robe is very nice. We bought 2 - for my 8 and 5 year old's - and they fit just fine. My only issue is the clasp. It is fairly cheap and there is only 1. It would be better designed if it had a few buttons in addition to this. Also note - if you buy the adult version of Gryffindor robe, the material is much closer to pink than the dark red of the child's robe.

My daughter is almost 10, and I ordered the L. The length is great, but if she grows any more, the shoulders will be a little snug. Not that she will care, as this has been on her 24/7 since it arrived in the mail. I appreciate the full lining, sewn on Gryffindor patch, and quality of the robe. I think it is a little over-priced, but worth it as the cheaper versions seem to be of a much lesser quality.

Both my girls are wild Harry Potter fans! They are 10 and 8, the perfect ages to fully immerse themselves in the Harry Potter story. These robes, purchased for their Halloween costumes (they were Hermione and Ginny, respectively), are beautiful, high-quality costumes that will last for years. The patch on the front is a real embroidered Hogwarts patch, carefully sewed on so it does not fall off. The cloaks are lined with a satin-like material that makes them comfortable and prevents the cloaks from getting caught on clothing underneath. The velvet is soft and supple. Though a little pricey, I do not regret a single penny spent on them. I know I will get my money's worth!

I'm not usually happy with fabrics these costumes are made from but this one was GREAT!!! I've seen cheaper versions and have thought they looked cheap. This robe is a very soft velvet and satin! Super comfortable. My son is 8years old and is a med. build and it fit him perfect. We also bought the tie which looked great with it. My son said It was the most comfortable costume he's ever worn!!! If you are on the fence buy this Premium one over the cheap one! The cheap ones cling to the legs and this one flows so nicely on them. Very happy with this buy!
